Advanced Fire Detection

London Aviation Centre possesses a state-of-the-art fire safety system that quickly detects and extinguishes all types of fire, while minimizing false alarms.

This advanced, three-point safety system is made up of three components that work together:

  • Vesda Air-Sampling System senses smoke. Air is continuously tracked and sampled from the ceiling space.
  • Spectra Flame Detectors monitor for two distinct flame signatures—both must be present for the system to be activated.
  • Only if both the Vesda and Spectra systems detect fire, the ICAF System is triggered. A 40,000 gallon retention tank feeds an eight-zone sprinkler system to lay down a foam blanket that will extinguish any electrical, fuel, or mechanical fire.

The hangar has a pump system with an oil and water separator to prevent contamination to the surrounding waterways during clean-up operations.

This sophisticated system ensures the safety of our staff, the protection of our aircraft, and minimal interruption in daily operations.
